Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment. Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle. Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software. Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. In this role you will build and maintain deployable system images and runtime environments, bundling operating‑system components, middleware, and platform services into validated volumes. Your work keeps the underlying software stable, repeatable, and secure, reducing integration risk and accelerating development and testing cycles, which in turn speeds the delivery of next‑generation capabilities to the field.Key Responsibilities:Support development and maintenance of deployable system imagesAssist with integrating middleware and system services into runtime volumesSupport configuration management and system initialization tasksDevelop and maintain scripts to assist with image creation and validationSupport integration and deployment activities in lab and test environmentsParticipate in peer code reviews and technical discussionsTravel up to 10% may be required.Basic QualificationsBachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)Experience with the software development process in a team environment (peer reviews, unit testing, configuration management, defect tracking)Experience in C++, Bash shell, or PythonExperience with Linux operating systems (Red Hat preferred)Familiarity with GitLab CI/CD pipelines for automated builds, tests, and deploymentsMust be a US Citizen.
