Access Associate-Senior

SUMMARY As a Senior Access Associate, you lead in the management and guidance of team members to maintain Rochester Regional’s high‑quality standards of customer care. DETAILS STATUS: Full Time LOCATION: 55 Genesee Street Bishop Kearney Bldg. Rochester, NY 14611 DEPARTMENT: Infectious Disease SCHEDULE: Monday–Friday 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM PAY RANGE: $18,00 – $21,00 per hour ATTRIBUTES Three (3) years of related work experience in a healthcare or customer service setting (preferred) Ability to lead and take direction Basic computer skills Excellent customer service and communication skills RESPONSIBILITIES Leadership. Provides knowledge, expertise and guidance to a team of access associates; assists in training new employees; serves as a resource to others in the resolution of complex issues. Customer Service. Manages incoming calls and provides necessary information; greets patients and/or their representatives and provides direction as needed; schedules patient appointments; interviews patients and/or their representatives to obtain necessary information. Registration & Verification. Completes the registration process for patients and/or their representatives; verifies insurance eligibility/coverage and obtains necessary pre‑certifications/authorizations when applicable. Billing & Payments. Collects/processes co‑payments, deductibles and/or other types of payments; provides cost estimates when applicable; reviews charges in charge review WQs for completeness and accuracy. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Primarily sedentary work, sitting most of the time with occasional walking or standing; exerts up to 10 pounds of force occasionally.
