Fitters Trillium Staffing is now seeking Fitters in Houston, TX! Schedules: Nights: Monday-Friday with a 4:30pm start time, currently working 10.5 hour days, Monday-Friday with occasional Saturday OT. Pay rate is $26-$30/hr, depending on experience. Candidates will be fitting on large parts in an industrial setting that builds large custom machinery. Must have experience with full penetration plate splicing (3/8 inch to 1-1/4 inch). Key Responsibilities: Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols. Measure, cut, and align metal components to prepare them for welding. Fit and assemble structural steel, pipe, or metal components according to specifications. Perform Flux Core welding on carbon steel. Experienced in 3G, SubArc, & 4G (overhead) welding. Inspect completed welds to ensure they meet quality and structural standards. Operate fabrication equipment such as grinders, torches, and cutting tools. Operate cranes and forklifts. Requirements: 5+ years of structural fit-up experience (heavy fabrication preferred; oilfield/heavy fab backgrounds idealnot pipe-focused). Must be in a dedicated Fitter position, not in combination with a Welder role. Strong blueprint reading and measurement skills with ability to measure accurately. Ability to tack weld during the fit-up process. Experience working with tight tolerances on structural assemblies. Ability to work independently and collaborate closely with welders and supervisors.
