Production Designer

Graphic Design Technician Checkmark is the in‑house creative resource of Nestle Purina. As a Graphic Design Technician, you will produce digital files for printing accurately and on time. You will be able to prioritize work appropriately, accurately account for time and alert the correct parties immediately if a deadline is in jeopardy. As a critical and central member of the team, you are able to work successfully with the creative team, your project manager and the lead senior production designer. Primary Responsibilities Graphic/Quality Standards: Proper use of trademarks and logos, meet legal and regulatory requirements, ensure all files meet AFFCO/NASC standards, maintain good typography (hyphenation, kerning, line breaks, legibility), use accurate sizes and specifications, route all projects to proofreader before presentation, construct memory‑efficient digital files, and maintain error‑free files. Must collaborate and be self‑sufficient with a problem‑solving, proactive attitude. Skills: Extensive knowledge of Mac OS and proficiency in InDesign, Photoshop, & Illustrator. Advanced key commands, paragraph formatting, typography, style sheets, tab fields. Digital file management/archiving, color correction and photo retouching, flexo and offset printing requirements, troubleshooting system problems, data recovery techniques, and basic network management. Project Self‑Management: Work as a team with Creative and Production Services to seek out appropriate information for completion of projects on time, prioritize work, accurately account for time, and alert the project manager immediately if a project will exceed the original timeframe. Design Skills: Responsible for design variations based on key artwork and perform all other duties as assigned. Other Duties and Responsibilities A congenial personality, a high energy and enthusiastic approach, and the ability to work closely with others are a definite plus. Key Skills InDesign Production Design Photoshop Illustrator Sketch Adobe Creative Cloud Education and Experience Education: High school diploma and some college courses preferred. Experience: At least 5 years in Mac digital production. Thorough knowledge of Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop. Experience with Sketch and Keynote is a plus. Experience with packaging die‑vinyls strongly preferred. Experience Level: Intermediate. Job Type & Location Contract position based in Saint Louis, MO. Pay and Benefits Pay range: $50.00–$50.00 per hour.
