We design, manufacture, and deploy advanced sensor systems that deliver real-time insights for defense and commercial applications.Position Overview:As we expand, we're looking for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead the development, optimization, and scaling of manufacturing processes and production systems across the product lifecycle.This role is responsible for driving manufacturing readiness for complex electro-mechanical systems, improving production efficiency and quality, and partnering cross-functionally with Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and Production teams to support new product introduction (NPI) and production scale-up efforts. The ideal candidate combines strong manufacturing process expertise with hands-on experience in assembly operations, tooling design, process optimization, and production scalability.Location: This position is onsite in East Syracuse, NY.Responsibilities:Lead the development, implementation, and optimization of manufacturing processes for electro-mechanical assemblies, subassemblies, and final system integrationDesign, develop, and qualify manufacturing tooling, fixtures, assembly aids, and ergonomic workstations to support efficient and repeatable productionDrive process validation, manufacturing readiness reviews, and production ramp activities for new product introductionsDevelop and maintain manufacturing work instructions, process flows, standard work, and assembly documentation through formal change control processesAnalyze production workflows, cycle times, yield data, and quality metrics to identify bottlenecks and implement corrective and preventive actionsLead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to improve throughput, reduce waste, and lower manufacturing costsCollaborate closely with Mechanical, Electrical, Supply Chain, and Quality Engineering teams to ensure Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and Design for Testability (DFT)Support troubleshooting and resolution of complex manufacturing, assembly, tooling, and equipment issues on the production floorPerform time studies, line balancing, labor utilization analysis, and capacity planning to optimize manufacturing operationsEvaluate and implement automation, process improvements, and manufacturing technologies to support production scalabilitySupport supplier and contract manufacturer process development, qualification, and continuous improvement effortsMentor junior engineers and technicians while providing technical leadership across manufacturing operationsWhat We're Looking For:Strong analytical and systems-level problem-solving skillsHands-on manufacturing engineering experience in electro-mechanical assembly environmentsExcellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skillsDemonstrated ability to improve manufacturing efficiency, quality, and scalabilityStrong understanding of production workflows, tooling, fixtures, and assembly process developmentAbility to independently lead projects from concept through production deployment in a fast-paced environmentRequired Qualifications:Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related engineering discipline5+ years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role supporting electro-mechanical products or assembliesExperience developing and optimizing manufacturing processes for low-volume/high-mix production environmentsStrong understanding of mechanical assembly processes, tooling design, fixture development, and production workflowsExperience interpreting mechanical CAD drawings, 3D models, engineering documentation, and bills of materialsFamiliarity with manufacturing process validation, root cause analysis, and statistical process control methodologiesExperience conducting time studies, labor analysis, and manufacturing cost reduction initiativesProficiency with CAD software and manufacturing documentation systemsExperience using data analysis tools such as Excel, MATLAB, Minitab, or Python for manufacturing and process analysisWorking knowledge of ERP/MRP or Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)Work Environment & Physical RequirementsThis position involves working in manufacturing and warehouse environments and may require bending, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, and lifting (up to 50 lbs). All essential job functions can be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.Preferred Qualifications:Experience supporting aerospace, defense, radar, RF, or other high-reliability manufacturing environmentsLean/Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certificationExperience with automation, robotics, or semi-automated manufacturing systemsFamiliarity with cable/harness assembly, sheet metal fabrication, machining, or environmental qualification processesExperience supporting contract manufacturers and supplier process qualificationFamiliarity with Manufacturing Execution Systems, TIP QA/SFE or similarCompensation and Benefits: Hidden Level offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, paid parental leave, flexible time off, 401(k) with employer contributions, life insurance, disability insurance, and potential stock options.Salary Range: The salary range for this position is estimated at $112,500 to $140,000 annually.
