Description POSITION SUMMARY: This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Provides direction to participants and implements program curriculum. Provides a quality experience to participants that focuses on building achievement and belonging. OUR CULTURE:

Supervises the program, assigned rooms, and all activities including ADA accommodations where appropriate. Follows all procedures and standards. 3. Supports YMCA healthy eating and physical activities standards through coaching, mentoring, and monitoring menu quality 4. Cultivates positive relationships and maintains effective communication with participants. Engages volunteers and connects them to the YMCA.
5. Maintains program site and equipment. 6. Maintains required program records. 7. Attends staff meetings, and staff training. 8. Performs other duties as assigned. Recruits volunteers and builds effective, supportive working relationships with them. Supports fund-raising. Establishes goals, clarifies tasks, plans work and actively participates in meetings. Follows budgeting policies and procedures, and reports all financial irregularities immediately. Strives to meet or exceed goals and deliver a high-value experience for members. Personal Growth: Pursues self-development that enhances job performance. Demonstrates an openness to change, and seeks opportunities in the change process. Accurately assesses personal feelings, strengths and limitations and how they impact relationships. Has the functional and technical knowledge and skills required to perform well; uses best practices and demonstrates up-to-date knowledge and skills in technology. QUALIFICATIONS: • Knowledge and educational credentials in program area.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years of age. • CPR, First Aid, AED certifications, licensing required trainings and Child Abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire date. • Previous experience working with target program populations. • Ability to implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities. • Previous experience with diverse populations. Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds. • Understands the YMCA is a public accommodation committed to inclusion and compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS: • Ability to walk, stand, and sit (including on the floor) for long periods of time. • Exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids. • Must be able to lift and/or assist children up to 50 pounds in weight. • Must be able to lift and carry food and supplies weighing up to 20 pounds.
• Ability to stand or sit while maintaining alertness for several hours at a time. • Position may require bending, leaning, kneeling, and walking. • Ability to speak concisely and effectively communicate. • Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical situations and physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency • Ability to view/enter data for long periods of time. • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
