Job Summary

We are seeking a Data Analyst - Chemical Databases for a temp-to-hire opportunity in Wilmington, DE. This role is ideal for a scientifically minded data professional who enjoys working at the intersection of chemical regulatory compliance, enterprise databases, SQL scripting, SDS authoring, and product labeling.

In this role, you will support high-volume Safety Data Sheet and labeling initiatives, including legal entity and branding updates tied to major business projects. You will work closely with regulatory, IT, database, and cross-functional business teams to improve data accuracy, streamline reporting, and support compliant chemical product documentation.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop, review, and maintain Safety Data Sheets and product labels in compliance with GHS and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Create and execute SQL scripts to extract, transform, validate, and analyze chemical and regulatory data from enterprise databases.
- Support high-volume SDS and labeling projects related to legal entity changes, branding updates, and business divestiture activities.
- Collaborate with IT, WERCS, and regulatory teams to optimize database structure, improve data quality controls, and resolve data-related issues.
- Interpret, synthesize, and communicate technical and regulatory information to support compliant and practical business outcomes.
- Automate reporting, validate chemical database accuracy, and support cross-functional analytics needs.

Compensation and Benefits

- Pay range: $37 to $39 per hour.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Develop and maintain SDS documents and product labels in alignment with GHS and regulatory requirements.
- Use SQL scripting to manage, extract, transform, analyze, and validate chemical and regulatory database information.
- Support Project Foxtrot and other high-volume SDS and labeling initiatives involving legal entity, branding, and divestiture-related updates.
- Partner with IT, WERCS, regulatory, and cross-functional teams to improve data quality and troubleshoot database issues.

- Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline such as chemistry, toxicology, environmental science, or a related field.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a technical role within a corporate or consulting firm.
- Working knowledge of SAP and regulatory compliance systems such as UL WERCS for SDS authoring activities.
- Knowledge of the Globally Harmonized System and Safety Data Sheet requirements, including hazard classification.
- Strong SQL skills for data extraction, transformation, analysis, validation, and reporting.
- Ability to interpret and clearly communicate technical or regulatory information to achieve business and compliance objectives.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex information and identify practical solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of cross-functional teams.
- Self-motivated and results-oriented, with the ability to maintain productivity and accountability in a remote working environment.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience supporting chemical, petrochemical, biotechnology, R&D, regulatory, or product stewardship environments.
- Prior experience with large-scale SDS redevelopment, labeling updates, database cleanup, or regulatory data migration projects.
- Familiarity with chemical hazard classification, product stewardship workflows, or regulatory documentation processes.
