Emergency Medicine – Advanced Practice Provider Rush Oak Park Hospital, Oak Park, IL Rush Oak Park Hospital, part of the Rush University System for Health, invites application for the position of Advanced Practice Provider. Annual volume of more than 47,000 patients – 58 hours of physician coverage and 40 hours of mid‑level provider coverage daily. Newly built emergency room opened October 2019 with 22 private rooms and 10 Fast‑Track treatment areas. Affiliation with Rush University Medical Center facilitates transfers for tertiary care. Located 10 miles from downtown Chicago in a desirable residential neighborhood. Schedule: rotating 10‑hour shifts alongside twenty full‑time Emergency Medicine Physicians and two fellow Advanced Practice Providers. Night shifts are not required but may be added as needed. Two weekends (four shifts) per four‑week block are required. Preferred Qualifications APRN Candidates must hold pediatrics or Family Nurse Practitioner certification. Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is a licensed physician assistant (PA) or advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) who functions as a member of the health care team to provide high‑quality, comprehensive acute and/or routine medical/surgical care of Rush patients within the scope of practice granted in accordance with the Rush University Medical Center medical staff bylaws. The APP promotes collaboration among disciplines to ensure cost‑effective and quality patient care, exemplifying Rush’s mission, vision, and values while adhering to Rush policies, procedures, and quality standards. Rush has over 400 APPs across the enterprise who provide comprehensive care daily, practicing autonomously and in collaboration with other members of the health care team. Position Requirements Nurse Practitioner Current licensure from Illinois as a Registered Professional Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse. Master of Science in Nursing or Doctorate of Nursing Practice with clinical specialty appropriate to position. Current certification by the American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioner (AANP). Maintains State of Illinois and Federal DEA license. Must maintain Rush University Medical Center, Rush Oak Park Hospital, and Rush Copley Medical Center clinical privileges as applicable. CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications. Excellent communication skills. Experience treating patients of all ages. Procedural experience (simple laceration repair, I&D). Physician Assistant Current licensure from Illinois as a Physician Assistant/Associate. Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant/Associate Program. Current certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. Must maintain Rush University Medical Center, Rush Oak Park Hospital, and Rush Copley Medical Center clinical privileges as applicable. Excellent communication skills. Experience treating patients of all ages. Procedural experience (simple laceration repair, I&D). Rush offers competitive total compensation including base pay, benefits, and incentive programs. Pay range: $124,610 – $175,000. Additional compensation may include premium pay rates, sign‑on bonuses, and relocation allowances. A comprehensive benefits package is also available.
