Skilled Nursing LPN
This position provides care to assigned residents in a caring, safe and efficient manner and is responsible to perform the following according to location standards, procedures and individualized resident care plans.
Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities
- Patient Care and Skills
- Apply basic nursing skills and a comprehensive understanding of patient care principles.
- Administer medications safely, demonstrating knowledge and familiarity with the therapeutic effects and side effects of all administered pharmaceuticals.
- Accurately measure and comprehend certain quantities relevant to patient care (e.g., vital signs, medication dosages).
- Maintain effective communication and comprehension skills to interact with patients, staff, and other healthcare professionals.
- Operate, activate, use, prepare, inspect, place, detect, and position objects, tools, or controls as required by job tasks.
- Observe, assess, and detect information relative to patient status and environmental conditions.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Directly supervise assigned employee(s).
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
- Key supervisory duties include:
- Interviewing, hiring, and training new employees.
- Planning, assigning, and directing work.
- Appraising performance, rewarding, and disciplining employees.
- Addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Fostering an environment conducive to high employee engagement
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge: Knowledge of basic nursing skills; knowledge and familiarity with the therapeutic effects and side effects of all medications administered.
- Skills/Abilities: Basic ability to communicate and comprehend; ability to measure and comprehend certain quantities.
Licensure and Education
- Maintain current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) licensure for the state of practice.
- Must be a Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
