The Pediatric Hematology/Oncology unit consists of 11 beds and delivers specialized care to infants, children, adolescents, and young adults facing various hematological and oncological challenges. Our multidisciplinary team is committed to providing comprehensive, family-centered care throughout the treatment journey, which includes chemotherapy, immunotherapy, blood transfusions, bone marrow transplants, symptom management, and end-of-life care. As a Registered Nurse (RN), your daily responsibilities may include: Performing thorough patient assessments and identifying subtle clinical changes, using your judgment to intervene promptly and advocate for your patients. Administering safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands-on care grounded in sound clinical judgment. Collaborating with physicians and advanced providers, offering insights that facilitate timely and well-coordinated care decisions. Delivering clear and compassionate education to patients and families, ensuring they feel informed, supported, and ready for the next steps in care. Maintaining accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record to ensure continuity and patient safety. Participating in interdisciplinary rounds, contributing to effective communication and smooth transitions of care. Engaging actively in a highly collaborative team environment where shared accountability and teamwork directly influence outcomes. To qualify for this RN position, you must possess an active Registered Nurse license in good standing from New Jersey and a current BLS certification from the American Heart Association. Certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and APHON Chemotherapy are required. A minimum of one year of pediatric experience is necessary, with prior pediatric oncology experience preferred. An Associate’s degree in Nursing is required, while a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is strongly preferred, along with previous patient care experience and familiarity with electronic medical record systems (EMR) such as EPIC. This role involves Night Shift work, totaling 36 hours per week from 7 PM to 7:30 AM.
