Job Overview We are looking for a Registered Nurse to join our Pediatric Oncology team at our Children’s Hospital located on the New Brunswick campus. Qualifications Required: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is mandatory. At least one year of experience as a Pediatric RN. Excellent communication and organizational abilities. Strong computer proficiency. Preferred: Experience in Pediatric Oncology is advantageous. Certifications and Licenses Required Current BLS and ACLS certifications. Active Registered Nurse License in New Jersey. PALS certification is required. APHON Chemotherapy certification is necessary. Scheduling Requirements Night shift, totaling 36 hours per week. Essential Functions The Registered Nurse delivers care within the healthcare system, adhering to the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards, while upholding ethical practices as outlined by the ANA code of ethics. Ensures safety in practice, incorporating evidence-based principles and taking responsibility for enhancing personal and team knowledge through effective communication and resource utilization. Responsible for reporting safety concerns, including hazardous conditions and medical errors. Maintains knowledge of the patient demographics served. Supervises and directs task delegation among team members, collaborating with other healthcare providers. Sets and evaluates priorities consistently, implementing appropriate interventions with measurable outcomes for improvement. Acts as an individual practitioner and interdisciplinary team manager, utilizing the nursing process to tailor care plans to meet specific patient needs.
