Assistant Store Manager

Job Overview Compensation Pay Range: $15.50 - $21.50 per hour. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation may include annual, quarterly performance bonuses or premiums. The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in sales, customer service, store appearance, and store operations. This position manages the store during the Store Manager’s absence and/or when working opposing shifts, and leads the store team in servicing customers. Responsibilities Lead store team members in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers. Supervise the customer service levels on the retail showroom, ensuring team member execution on customer service programs (Related sales, Hi5, Rock the Call, Never Say No, Rock the Lot, etc.). Work with the store manager to ensure the retail sales counter is adequately staffed, especially during peak business hours. Assist the store manager in setting team member goals, providing feedback on goal achievement, coaching/mentoring, and ensuring they stay current on training. Assist in the hiring process: complete recruiting tasks, schedule and participate in interviews, evaluate candidates, and collaborate with management to select qualified team members. Authorize telephone answering according to company policy. Process buy-online/ship-to-store, hub-to-store transfers, and DC add orders in a timely manner and notify customers of shipment arrivals. Utilize the electronic outside purchase order ledger to handle special orders and outside purchases efficiently and per procedure. Process retail customer returns and exchanges efficiently, issue refunds accurately, and stage returned merchandise properly. Invoice all merchandise, including core charges and warranties, before the product leaves the store. Communicate Zipline messages and delegate Image Maker/merchandising tasks as assigned. Ensure team members comply with company policies: posted work schedules, approved changes/deviations, and proper clock‑in/out procedures. Perform all store opening/closing duties: day‑end procedures, money/deposit verification, bank deposit preparation, security lighting, door locking, alarm arming/disarming, and delivery vehicle securing. Assist the store manager in maintaining the store building, parking lot, exterior signage/lighting, computer hardware, in‑store service/test equipment, and delivery vehicles. Perform all other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required: Sales Specialist Training, Assistant Manager Certification, and RSS Certification. Desired: Certified Parts Professional Certification, ASE Certification. Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired). Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply.
