Dialysis Nurse

We are seeking an experienced RN for an inpatient acute dialysis unit. The nurse will utilize the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members in caring for patients. Responsibilities include administering prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies, procedures, standards of care, and state laws/practice acts. The nurse will document according to standards of care. They will develop, initiate, and execute a patient plan of care according to the individualized needs of the patient, as prescribed by the physician and/or hospital policy, including patient and family instruction. Participation in department or unit performance improvement activities may be required, which could include shared governance. The nurse will utilize clinical expertise and guidance to support the patient's longitudinal plan of care in other units/departments. Critical thinking will be used regarding patient safety and patient experience, and appropriate escalation to the chain of command is expected. Weekend shifts and holiday coverage are required, along with an on-call schedule that is split within the team, averaging 3-4 days per month and one weekend per month.
