Details Work in the Med/Surg Tele unit of a short-term acute care, Level III trauma and teaching hospital Patient ratio of 1:5-6 Night shift schedule (4x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM) Required to work every other weekend No on-call responsibilities Floating required within scope to like units, including hospital or sister campus depending on booking Epic EMR used for charting Requirements Active RN license (NC state or compact) currently in hand - pending licenses not accepted Current certifications: BLS, ACLS (preferred), and NIHSS Minimum 2 years of MS/Tele nursing experience required Epic EMR experience required Previous charge nurse experience preferred Teaching hospital and Trauma Level II experience preferred Prior travel nursing experience required Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central line and PICC line management, blood product administration, and telemetry monitoring Experience with respiratory care including chest tubes, HFNC, nasal cannula, and tracheostomy care Experience with wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE SSN and DOB required for consideration Additional Information Provide skilled nursing care to Med/Surg Tele patients including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and rapid response/code team coordination Manage patients requiring renal, gastrointestinal, and genitourinary care including hemodialysis management and feeding tube care Royal blue and white scrub color required Must live outside a 50-mile radius from the main campus to be eligible for travel rates RTO limited to a maximum of 4 days, with approval for only 1 holiday, per manager discretion Returning staff must have been gone for at least 1 year to return as a traveler Extensions limited to once for day shift and twice for night shift, followed by a required 6-month break before reapplying First-time travelers are welcome to apply American Traveler Job ID P-742055.
