Administrative Specialist 1 - Part-Time Gold Beach

Position Information

Administrative Specialist 1 – Part‑Time, permanent. Gold Beach, Oregon. Salary range is approximately $1,899 – $2,595 per month.

• Schedule: Monday – Friday, 10am – 2pm.

This is an in‑office position without the opportunity for a remote or hybrid work schedule.

Summary of Job Duties

In this position, you will establish procedures and policy development processes; interpret outside agency protocols and policies and Oregon Revised Statutes and apply those interpretations to specific situations; providing administrative, operational and program support to area commands and worksites to include the Patrol, Criminal and Fish and Wildlife Divisions; and training troopers in office procedures. You will also prioritize daily and weekly workload to support agency, region and area commands’ strategic goals, mission, business expectations and timelines in accordance with department policies, rules, procedures and Oregon laws. In this position, you will be responsible for knowing the expectations of the office and work independently with little to no supervision to fulfill those expectations with a high level of accuracy and timeliness.

Minimum Qualifications / Eligibility Requirements

• Two years of secretarial or basic administrative support experience that includes records processing, generating documents, and gathering and sorting data;
• An associate degree in general office occupations and one year of experience with records processing, generating documents, and gathering and sorting data;
• An equivalent combination of education and experience.

U.S. Veteran and/or Oregon National Guard Servicemember Status Designation Eligible veterans and Oregon National Guard servicemembers (current and former) who meet the qualifications of the position will be awarded candidate preference.

Current OSP AFSCME Local 896 employees who meet the minimum qualifications of this position will be given preference in the selection process.

Special Qualifications

• Must be LEDS certified at the Inquiry and Entry levels, or able to obtain certification within 6 months of hire.
• Must be able to meet criteria to become State of Oregon Notary Public.
• This position is covered by an AFSCME Collective Bargaining Agreement.
