Infusion Quality Nurse

The infusion quality nurse is responsible for ensuring the clinical and operational excellence of the home infusion program, through the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of quality standards, patient safety, and regulatory compliance. This role is oriented towards auditing, clinical supervision, and performance analysis, ensuring that nursing services are provided with the highest levels of effectiveness, safety, and patient satisfaction. Additionally, it collaborates in ACHC accreditation processes, internal audits, and the supervision of clinical competencies of nursing staff.

Responsibilities include designing, implementing, and evaluating clinical and operational quality indicators; conducting internal audits of nursing documentation, protocols, and practices; writing audit reports with findings, observations, and recommendations; developing and implementing corrective and preventive action plans (CAPA); coordinating clinical case reviews, adverse events, and patient complaints; supervising initial and annual clinical competencies of nursing staff; collaborating in staff training on quality, safety, and infections; supporting the preparation and response to ACHC accreditation processes and regulatory audits; staying updated on local and federal regulations; and supporting the values and mission of Alivia Infusion Services through daily professional performance.

Documentation and compliance include ensuring that all clinical documentation meets quality standards, HIPAA, and applicable regulations; maintaining traceability in signatures, admission dates, and times; reporting and analyzing incidents, adverse events, and complaints; documenting audit findings and following up on CAPAs; and verifying compliance with HIT standards and clinical competencies policies according to ACHC.

Required competencies include knowledge of IV pharmacotherapy and high-risk medications, management of peripheral, central venous accesses, and infusion pumps; evaluation and analysis of clinical compliance in infusion and infection control; identification and initial management of adverse effects and clinical risks; knowledge in the prevention of infections in home environments; clinical mentorship in quality processes and documentation; management of emergencies related to adverse drug reactions in the patient's home; covering routes in case of absence or emergency of any clinical professional; analysis of clinical and operational data; writing executive reports for the quality committee; management of electronic clinical records systems; knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); participation in internal and external training; adaptation to changes in protocols, technology, and regulations; and effective communication with leadership, clinical staff, and patients.
