Senior Accountant

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Accountant in Arlington, VA. Overview: We are seeking a detail oriented and reliable Senior Accountant to support core accounting functions within a dynamic organization. This role will be responsible for general ledger activity, month end close, and financial reporting, while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to operate independently. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support the month end, quarter end, and year end close processes
- Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
- Maintain and analyze general ledger accounts and financial records
- Assist with preparation of internal and external financial reports
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
- Support audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and responding to requests
- Partner cross functionally to support business initiatives and financial accuracy
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiencies
- 2-3 years of public Accounting experience (2 busy seasons minimum)
- Excel - Pivot Tables, Formulas and VLOOKUP's
