Medical Dosimetrist (Hybrid)

Overview Texas Oncology seeks a hybrid Medical Dosimetrist to join our San Antonio Radiation Team. The role will be part of the San Antonio region Radiation team consisting of 4 clinics staffed by 6 dosimetrists, 5 physicists, 14 radiation therapists, and 5 radiation oncologists. Travel to the sites may be required. Responsibilities Generate radiation therapy treatment plans in a timely manner using computer software and various imaging modalities, with strong attention to detail. Adapt to ever-changing technology and learn new systems and techniques. Perform routine duties independently, consulting with the Radiation Oncologist and Medical Physicist as required. Consult and communicate with therapists regarding plan implementation, including correct use of immobilization devices, field arrangement, and other variables. Perform or supervise design and fabrication of immobilization devices, beam modifying devices (e.g., compensating filters, bolus, molds, custom shields), and treatment planning aids. Strong experience with Varian LINACs, Eclipse TPS, ARIA, RadCalc, EZFluence, ClearCheck, AutoContour, and MiM Software is a plus. Qualifications Certification as a Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) preferred. Strong oral and written communication skills. Proficient in planning VMAT, IMRT, SBRT/SRT, and 3D plans. Physical Demands The employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to manipulate a computer keyboard and mouse. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms, and may lift or move up to 30 pounds. Vision and hearing corrected to normal ranges are required. Work Environment Work is performed in an office environment with frequent contact with staff.
