Job Description

Material Handlers ensure that all distribution activities run smoothly, safely, and in accordance with internal quality standards. This role focuses on accurately moving, loading, and unloading materials using sit-down forklifts and other authorized warehouse equipment while maintaining precise documentation of all materials handled.

Available shifts

$22/hr : 1st shift - 6:00am-4:30pm Monday-Thursday

$23.50/hr: 2nd shift - 9:00am-7:30pm Monday-Thursday

$25/hr: Weekend shift - 5:30am-6:00pm Friday-Sunday

Responsibilities

• Read and follow work orders and instructions to determine materials or container loads to be moved.
• Safely operate authorized warehouse equipment, including pallet jacks, rider jacks, standup equipment, order pickers, turret trucks, reach trucks, and forklifts after successful training.
• Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand, forklift, or other warehouse equipment.
• Load materials into vehicles and install strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage during transit.
• Count, weigh, and record the number of units of materials moved or handled on a daily production sheet.

Essential Skills

• At least 6 months of experience operating a sit-down forklift.
• Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment after training, including pallet jacks, rider jacks, standup equipment, order pickers, turret trucks, reach trucks, and forklifts over 5K capacity.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to read, comprehend, and complete basic checklists, forms, and other related documents.
• Ability to balance team and individual responsibilities and work collaboratively with others.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality, consistently being at work and on time.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience working in a warehouse or distribution environment.
• Comfort working with production sheets and basic documentation.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and standard operating procedures.
• Strong focus on safety and quality in daily tasks.

Work Environment

This role is based in a warehouse environment with active material handling and equipment operation throughout the shift. You will work on one of several structured shift options: a first shift from Monday to Thursday, a second shift from Monday to Thursday with a shift differential, or a weekend shift from Friday to Sunday with an enhanced shift differential. The environment involves working around forklifts and other powered industrial equipment, handling pallets, racks, and shelving. Team members typically wear practical, safety-conscious work attire suitable for a warehouse setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of West Jefferson, OH.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.50/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in West Jefferson,OH.
