Medical Billing Specialist

Revenue Cycle Coordinator / Medical Biller Optimal Health Chiropractic & Physical Therapy is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Revenue Cycle Coordinator to help manage the financial health of our growing multi-location chiropractic and physical therapy practice. This position is ideal for an experienced medical biller who enjoys solving problems, tracking down outstanding claims, improving collections, and helping a healthcare team operate efficiently. Position Overview The Revenue Cycle Coordinator will be responsible for managing and improving all aspects of the revenue cycle, including claim submission oversight, denial management, insurance verification, authorizations, accounts receivable, and reporting. This role will work closely with clinic leadership, providers, front desk staff, and our EMR system to ensure accurate billing and timely reimbursement. Position Type Part-Time (20–30 hours per week initially) Flexible schedule available In-person required Responsibilities Revenue Cycle Management Review and monitor claim submission processes Track and resolve denied or rejected claims Follow up on unpaid insurance claims Manage accounts receivable aging reports Monitor claims over 30, 60, and 90 days Ensure timely payment posting and reconciliation Insurance & Authorizations Verify patient benefits and eligibility Obtain and track insurance authorizations Monitor authorization expirations Assist with payer communication and problem resolution Reporting & Analytics Generate weekly and monthly billing reports Monitor collection trends and KPIs Track denial rates and identify recurring issues Report findings and recommendations to leadership Compliance & Documentation Support Review documentation for billing compliance Identify coding or documentation deficiencies Work with providers to improve claim accuracy Stay current with insurance and payer requirements Preferred Qualifications 3+ years of chiropractic, physical therapy, or outpatient rehabilitation billing experience Strong understanding of CPT, ICD-10, modifiers, and insurance billing processes Experience with Medicare, commercial insurance, and workers’ compensation Experience managing denials and appeals Knowledge of accounts receivable management Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills Excellent communication skills Highly Preferred Chiropractic billing experience Physical therapy billing experience Multi‑provider practice experience Revenue cycle management experience EMR and practice management software experience Success Metrics First‑pass claim acceptance rate above 95% Denial rate below 5% AR over 90 days below 10% Timely authorization management Accurate reporting and revenue tracking Continuous improvement of collection performance About Us Optimal Health Chiropractic & Physical Therapy is a growing sports medicine, chiropractic, and rehabilitation practice with multiple locations in South Jersey.
