The mission of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development is to foster strong communities by supporting access to quality, affordable housing, expanding the housing supply, and unlocking homeownership opportunities for the American people. The Department is committed to furthering the promise of self-sufficiency in every American while promoting economic development to revitalize rural, tribal, and urban communities across the country. This position is located in the Office of Public and Indian Housing (PIH). PIH's mission is to provide low-income families affordable housing opportunities as they transition to self-sufficiency and homeownership. PIH oversees the administration of HUD's Public Housing, Housing Choice Voucher, Section 8 Rental Assistance, and Native American Programs through a staff of Headquarters and Field employees. The field structure for PIH consists of 29 Hub Offices and 16 Program Centers that provide oversight, direct monitoring, and coordination for approximately 4,200 public housing authorities. As a Financial Analyst, you will:

• Perform complex technical review and analysis of financial data reported on various documents such as budgets, requisitions, year-end settlement and financial statements, and voucher assistance payments.
• Recommend creative solutions to complex financial problems and takes an active role in implementing needed changes to resolve the identified issue.
• Initiate and participate in complex and team assignments as needed to deal with cross cutting financial management issues.
• Serve as an advisor and subject matter expert for financial matters relating to the Section 8 programs.
• Provide technical assistance and advice to the Field Offices, Headquarters, REAC, etc., as necessary on issues relating to the financial management of the Section 8 programs.
