Grade 105 Job Type: Officer of Administration Regular/Temporary: Regular Hours Per Week: 35+ Salary Range: $114,000 - $145,000 The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. Position Summary Columbia University Irving Medical Center is seeking a Clinical Coordinator III (RN) to join the Bone Marrow Transplant team within the Division of Hematology/Oncology. This role delivers comprehensive patient care and education while supporting clinical operations and patient management, reporting directly to the Outpatient Oncology Nursing Directors. Responsibilities Support the outpatient management of BMT/Cell Therapy patients in collaboration with MD/NP/PA providers Assist with bone marrow procedures, including sterile setup, specimen collection, documentation, and patient monitoring Coordinate all phases of the patient journey—from consultation through treatment and recovery Perform comprehensive nursing assessments in person, by phone, and via the EMR Oversee daily patient needs in clinic/infusion, including labs, test results, symptoms, and treatment planning Partner with infusion and inpatient teams to ensure seamless care and accurate scheduling Develop and deliver patient education related to oncology care and treatments Address psychosocial needs of patients and caregivers Provide compassionate, evidence‑based nursing care Communicate patient needs to MD/NP/PA in a timely, clinically appropriate manner Complete prior authorizations as needed Prepare and review treatment calendars with patients Incorporate cultural sensitivity and diversity into all aspects of care Actively participate in a multidisciplinary team to support continuity of care Perform additional duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience, plus four years of related clinical experience. Current New York State RN license and BLS certification. Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to adapt to a dynamic and fast‑paced clinical environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience in medical oncology or bone marrow transplant (BMT). Other Requirements Medical clearance and participation in the medical surveillance program: Direct patient contact and/or interaction with human research subjects. Use of N-95 respirator as needed. Potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens. Successful completion of all required compliance and systems training.
