Job Objective: An Assistant Operator supports manufacturing production by setting up, operating, and maintaining machinery, ensuring product quality, and maximizing efficiency.

• Assist the Machine Operator in setting up and operating production equipment.
• Accurately interpret and follow work orders, blueprints, and instructions from supervisors or operators.
• Monitor machine operation and report any issues to the Machine Operator or Supervisor.
• Remove finished products, inspect for defects, ensure product meets specifications, identify any issues with the machines or raw materials.
• Package, label, and store finished products according to instructions.
• Perform routine maintenance such as cleaning, lubricating, and making minor adjustments to the machines.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures and monitor all work processes to maintain a safe working environment.
• Effectively communicate with machine operators, supervisors, and other team members about production status, quality issues, safety issues, and maintenance needs.
• Maintain a clean work area.
• Other tasks and duties as assigned.

Skills/Abilities:

Ability to read and understand work instructions, as well as to communicate effectively.

Ability to work scheduled work hours, along with occasional required overtime.

Ability to effectively self-manage time and service multiple areas.

Supervisory Responsibility: None.

Physical requirements include:

Bending, reaching, stretching, kneeling, and stooping.

Standing for up to 8 hours at a time.

Frequently lifting, pulling, and pushing of materials up to 30 lbs., and occasionally up to 60 lbs.

Travel: None.

Working Conditions: The work environment for this position is a warehouse environment with moderate to loud noise levels. The environment may be dusty and may experience temperature fluctuations based on weather which exposes the employee to outdoor conditions.
