The Treasury Manager is responsible for leading the organization's treasury, liquidity, and financial risk management functions, with a primary focus on commodity and hedging strategies that support the company's profitability and long-term growth objectives.

 

The Treasury Manager develops and executes treasury strategies that optimize cash flow, liquidity, and capital resources while protecting earnings and cash flows from adverse market movements. This position partners closely with Executive Leadership, Procurement, Sales, Operations, and the Global Finance organization to align hedging activities with commercial contracts, raw material sourcing strategies, and overall business objectives.

 

Essential Job Functions

 

Treasury & Cash Management

· Manage daily treasury operations, including cash positioning, liquidity monitoring, and funding requirements.

· Develop short-term and long-term cash flow forecasts to support business planning and operational needs.

· Optimize working capital through effective management of cash conversion cycles and liquidity strategies.

· Monitor cash balances across domestic and international accounts.

· Coordinate intercompany funding activities and maintain treasury compliance with corporate policies.

· Ensure sufficient liquidity is available to support operational, capital expenditure, and growth initiatives.

 

Commodity Hedging & Risk Management

· Lead the company's commodity risk management program with a primary focus on aluminum price exposure and related raw material costs.

· Develop, implement, and monitor hedging strategies utilizing financial instruments and market-based risk mitigation techniques.

· Analyze commodity market trends, pricing movements, and risk exposures to support business decision-making.

· Execute and manage hedge transactions in accordance with approved risk management policies.

· Monitor hedge effectiveness and prepare reporting on open positions, exposures, gains/losses, and mark-to-market activity.

· Partner with Procurement, Sales, Operations, and leadership to align hedging strategies with business objectives and customer contracts.

· Provide recommendations regarding commodity pricing strategies, contract structures, and market risk alternatives.

 

Foreign Exchange & Financial Risk Management

· Identify, evaluate, and manage foreign currency exposures associated with international operations and transactions.

· Develop and implement foreign exchange hedging strategies to minimize earnings and cash flow volatility.

· Monitor global financial markets and assess impacts on organizational financial performance.

· Maintain financial risk assessments related to interest rate, currency, and commodity exposures.

· Support the development and maintenance of treasury and risk management policies.

 

Banking & Capital Structure Management

· Manage relationships with banks, financial institutions, and treasury service providers.

· Evaluate banking services, fees, credit facilities, and treasury technology solutions.

· Support debt administration, financing activities, and credit facility management.

· Assist in capital planning and funding strategies for operational and strategic initiatives.

· Coordinate documentation related to financing agreements, banking resolutions, and treasury controls.

 

Treasury Reporting & Analysis

· Prepare treasury reports, liquidity analyses, cash forecasts, and risk management dashboards for executive leadership.

· Develop financial models related to cash flow, commodity risk, foreign exchange exposure, and capital planning.

· Provide regular reporting on hedge performance, cash flow forecasts, working capital metrics, and treasury KPIs.

· Analyze market conditions and provide recommendations to leadership regarding treasury and risk management activities.

 

Compliance & Internal Controls

· Ensure treasury activities comply with company policies, accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal controls.

· Maintain supporting documentation for treasury transactions and hedge accounting requirements.

· Assist internal and external auditors with treasury-related audits and compliance reviews.

· Continuously improve treasury processes, controls, and reporting capabilities.

 

Cross-Functional Business Partnership

· Serve as a strategic business partner to Finance, Procurement, Sales, Operations, and Executive Leadership.

· Collaborate with commercial and procurement teams on pricing, contract negotiations, and market risk assessments.

· Support strategic planning, financial modeling, and corporate initiatives requiring treasury expertise.

· Coordinate with global finance teams to ensure alignment of treasury strategies and risk management practices.

 

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

 

This position has no direct supervisory responsibility.

 

Minimum Requirements

 

· Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related field required.

· MBA, CTP (Certified Treasury Professional), CFA, CPA, or equivalent professional certification preferred.

· Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive treasury, corporate finance, banking, or financial risk management experience.

· Minimum of 3 years of experience managing commodity hedging programs and financial market risk exposures.

· Experience within manufacturing, metals, commodities, industrial, or multinational organizations strongly preferred.

· Demonstrated experience managing cash flow forecasting, liquidity planning, banking relationships, and treasury operations.

· Experience with foreign exchange risk management, commodity hedging, and financial derivatives.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

 

· Advanced knowledge of corporate treasury management, liquidity planning, and working capital optimization.

· Strong expertise in commodity hedging, particularly aluminum and related metals markets.

· Understanding of financial derivatives, futures, swaps, options, and other risk management instruments.

· Strong knowledge of foreign exchange markets, interest rate risk, and financial risk management practices.

· Experience with treasury management systems (TMS), ERP platforms, and financial reporting tools.

· Advanced financial modeling, forecasting, and analytical capabilities.

· Ability to evaluate market trends and translate findings into actionable business recommendations.

· Strong business acumen and strategic thinking skills.

· Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence senior leadership.

· Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

· High level of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to confidentiality.

· Ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including banks, brokers, auditors, and executive leadership.

 

 

Working Conditions

 

The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to safely and successfully perform the essential functions of this job consistent with federal, state, and local standards, including meeting productivity standards.

 

· Regular standing, walking, bending, and reaching throughout the shift

· Occasional below waist level work, climbing, carrying, reaching over or away from the body, reaching above the shoulder, push/pull, and lifting up to 35 lbs.

· Regular use of computer systems for inventory management, work orders, purchasing, and reporting

· Exposure to industrial conditions such as noise, dust, temperature variations, and moving equipment is common as well as the need to work at heights
