Kitchen Manager
Location: Long Beach, NJ
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Kitchen Manager to oversee the daily operations of a busy, fast-paced kitchen in Long Beach, NJ. This is an excellent opportunity for a culinary leader who takes pride in food quality, kitchen organization, team development, and maintaining high operating standards.
Responsibilities
Oversee all daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, production, and service.
Lead, train, and develop kitchen staff while maintaining a positive and accountable team environment.
Ensure consistent food quality, portion control, presentation, and recipe execution.
Manage kitchen staffing, scheduling, and labor costs.
Monitor food inventory, ordering, receiving, storage, and product rotation.
Maintain appropriate food and labor costs while minimizing waste.
Ensure the kitchen meets all health, sanitation, safety, and food-handling standards.
Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen throughout each shift.
Prepare and execute prep lists and ensure the team is properly set up for service.
Troubleshoot operational issues and keep service running smoothly during busy periods.
Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management of kitchen employees.
Work closely with the General Manager and leadership team to improve kitchen operations and overall guest experience.
Qualifications
2+ years of experience in a Kitchen Manager, Sous Chef, Chef, or similar leadership position.
Strong knowledge of food preparation, kitchen operations, and food safety.
Experience managing and developing kitchen teams.
Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Understanding of inventory, food cost, labor, and waste control.
Hands-on leadership style with the ability to lead by example.
ServSafe certification is a plus.
Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
