Soul Good is seeking a Sous Chef for a hands-on food and beverage production role. This position focuses on preparing, cooking, portioning, and packaging food and beverages while maintaining consistent standards for quality, freshness, cleanliness, and presentation.Day-to-day duties and responsibilities:Prepare food and beverages according to established recipes, specifications, and daily production schedules.Wash, peel, chop, measure, and organize ingredients for efficient production.Cook ingredients using appropriate techniques to achieve consistent flavor, texture, and appearance.Accurately measure ingredients and portions to maintain consistency and minimize waste.Follow prep lists and complete assigned production tasks within required timelines.Check finished food and beverages for quality, freshness, and presentation before packaging.Package, seal, and label finished items accurately according to established procedures.Monitor and maintain proper temperatures during cooking, cooling, holding, and storage.Follow food safety, sanitation, and allergen handling procedures.Inspect ingredients before use and promptly report shortages, spoilage, or quality concerns.Date, label, rotate, and store ingredients and finished items correctly.Safely operate kitchen knives, ovens, grills, steamers, mixers, blenders, and other production equipment.Keep workstations, utensils, equipment, and storage areas clean, organized, and sanitized.Complete assigned opening, closing, cleaning, and production records.Work cooperatively with the kitchen team and communicate production delays or equipment issues promptly.The ideal candidate brings strong cooking skills, reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to follow recipes and work efficiently in a busy food and beverage production environment.
