Shape what’s next as our Injection Molding Process Specialist

Picture your second shift: you clock in at 3:30 pm, review the schedule in IQMS, and head to your first work cell. You pull the outgoing mold, clean the press and surrounding area, and install the next tool. You configure diverters and screens to capture parts as they drop, verify dryers, grinders, robots, and conveyors, then bring the press up to spec—dialing in parameters for a smooth, first-shot start-up. When a cosmetic defect appears on a part, you apply scientific molding methods, adjust decoupled phases, and work with Quality to validate dimensions and attributes. By the time your shift wraps near midnight, you’ve stabilized variation, logged downtime data, and handed off clear notes to keep production humming.

What you’ll do

• Execute mold changeovers: pull, set, verify, and fully configure each work cell (dryers, grinders, robots, conveyors, diverters, and screens).
• Start up new jobs to documented processing specifications and confirm parameters for consistent production.
• Perform minor mold maintenance as needed; keep press areas clean and organized.
• Run vertical, horizontal, rotational, and overlay molding machines, including multi-cavity and multiple core-pull tooling.
• Apply 2- and 3-stage, decoupled processing; optimize hot runner and valve-gated tooling.
• Set up, program, operate, and maintain 3-axis servo robotics and EOAT; partner closely with Automation and Engineering.
• Use scientific injection molding techniques and root-cause analysis to troubleshoot and reduce process variation.
• Collaborate with Quality and cross-functional teams to meet customer specifications.
• Enter downtime and production notes in IQMS; view schedules and work orders as needed.
• Communicate equipment and tooling issues promptly; notify the Shift Supervisor of mold defects, machine concerns, and safety items.
• Pitch in across teams when needed (Inspection Operator, Quality, Tooling) and maintain a safety-first, housekeeping-focused environment.

What you bring

• High School diploma or GED (required) and 3+ years of relevant experience/training.
• Manufacturing or plastics background preferred; broad exposure to different sizes/types of molding machines preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude and basic understanding of injection molding tooling (preferred).
• Proficiency in mechanical troubleshooting, injection molding, and tool/die/mold setup.
• Core strengths: problem solving, technical and basic computer skills, effective verbal communication, quality mindset, collaboration, initiative, sound judgment, strategic thinking, safety focus, adaptability, dependability, and attention to detail.

Communication, Math, and Reasoning

• Read and interpret safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedures.
• Write routine reports and status updates; speak effectively to groups.
• Perform basic math (add, subtract, multiply, divide; fractions/decimals) and compute rate, ratio, and percent.
• Solve practical problems with limited standardization; interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule instructions.
• Use basic MS Office and job-specific IQMS modules for communication and scheduling.

Licenses and Tools

• Tow Motor License required (training available).
• Machines you’ll use: Injection molding machines (Arburg, Van Dorn, Engel, Nissei).

Physical demands

• Regular standing and walking; reaching and frequent use of hands.
• Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, sitting, climbing, or balancing.
• Lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
