Our team offers a variety of MEP and process piping services, including design-build engineering for new construction and renovation, installation and specialty construction, maintenance, and air balancing, start-up, and energy efficiency services.

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career accounting professional looking to develop broad-based skills across both general accounting and construction accounting. The ideal candidate will bring a foundational understanding of accounting principles, a strong work ethic, and the ability to collaborate effectively with operations teams across the organization.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepare and complete monthly account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of any discrepancies.
• Determine, calculate, and process sales and use tax filings in compliance with applicable state and local regulations.
• Manage payroll tax withholding calculations and coordinate timely remittances to the appropriate taxing authorities.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities.
• Maintain accurate and organized financial records in accordance with company policies and GAAP.
• Support the preparation of financial reporting and management reports as needed.
• Assist with internal or external audit requests by gathering supporting documentation and reconciliations.
• Support ad hoc financial analysis as needed for senior leadership.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives within finance and accounting to enhance efficiency and control.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting.
• Foundational understanding of accounting principles.
• Meaningful experience in Microsoft products (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.)
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy and process flow
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a service-minded approach.
