The Culinary team at Givens Aldersgate is currently hiring for PRN & Full-Time Line Cook's to help support our Gatehouse Dining Venue and Market.

Schedule/Availability:

• Full-Time Weekdays + Weekends 10:30 a to 8:30 p (Gatehouse) 10:30 a to 8:30 p (Assisted Living)
• Part-Time Weekdays + Weekends 10:30 a - 7p
• PRN Weekdays & Weekends 7 a to 3 p 10:30 a to 8:30 p

What you'll do:

• Prepare food items, preparation equipment, small wares, plate ware, food ingredients, garnishes and supply items needed for effective operations
• Maintains the highest degree of sanitation, cleanliness and food safety for work area
• Follow menus provided, making changes only with the consent of the culinary leadership
• Plan cooking schedule so that the finished product reaches the consumer at peak quality
• Work directly with residents, team members, and guests to ensure expectations are being met or exceeded
• Fulfilling catering orders for events on campus
• Perform any other duties and/or tasks that may be assigned on an as needed basis by an authorized supervisor

What you'll need:

• 2 Years of experience in food service operations
• Knowledge of proper methods and cooking temperatures for best utilization in yield of meats and other foods
• Ability to time the cooking of vegetables so that their nutritional quality, flavor, and appearance are preserved
• Ability to accurately estimate quantities of food needed and yields from bulk foods
• Knowledge of and an appreciation for principles and requirements of sanitation and safety in handling food and equipment
• Experience preparing and serving meals in an appealing and appetizing manner

Compensation: $17.00 to $19.00 per hour
