Position Title: Mid-Level Patent Litigation Associate – Intellectual Property

Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid)

Experience Level: 3–4 Years

Overview:

A global law firm is hiring a Patent Litigation Associate for its Intellectual Property and Technology group in Chicago . The successful candidate will have substantial experience with all phases of litigation, including briefing, discovery, depositions, and settlement strategy. This position is ideal for a motivated attorney looking to take initiative and grow into a leadership role on complex IP cases.

Key Responsibilities:

• Represent clients in patent, trademark, and copyright litigation
• Manage and prepare key filings: complaints, motions, discovery, and settlement agreements
• Participate in deposition preparation and execution
• Collaborate with senior attorneys on trial preparation and strategic planning
• Maintain active communication with clients and team members

Qualifications:

• 3–4 years of IP litigation experience in a law firm setting
• Experience managing written discovery and preparing/deposing witnesses
• Must be Patent Bar eligible
• Strong research, analytical, and legal writing skills
• Licensed in Illinois or eligible to waive in

Compensation & Benefits:

• Salary Range: $230,000–$310,000/year (commensurate with experience)
