Project Business Controller

Reporting to: Project Finance Manager. Location Hybrid – Houston, Texas, United States. Job Summary In this role, you’ll help run what runs the world by driving all financial activities within multiple small‑scale projects or a single large project. You will act as a business partner to the Project Management team, supporting all financial and commercial matters while actively driving project performance. Responsibilities Provide input to negotiations on commercial issues during the local risk review process and on the financial aspects of the project execution plan. Prepare project invoices and conduct financial accounting and reporting, including project site accounting. Drive and seek optimization of project cash flow, revenues, and gross‑margin contribution, effectively managing currency risk, bonds, guarantees, and tax issues. Ensure accuracy of project balance sheet, income and cash‑flow statements, and monthly/quarterly forecasts; participate in opportunity/risk identification, monitor risk‑mitigation measures, and ensure timely implementation. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting required; professional certifications preferred (CFA, ACCA, CA, CPA, CMA). 3+ years of relevant professional experience in finance, accounting, or project controls. Proficiency in SAP and advanced Microsoft Excel; Power BI proficiency preferred. Proactive problem‑solver with strong analytical, brainstorming, and communication skills, able to clearly articulate financial concepts and drive process improvement and standardization. Self‑motivated relationship builder with proven networking and stakeholder‑management experience, consistently driving continuous improvement and innovation.
