Plant ManagerThe Plant Manager directs the complete manufacturing process at the facility while leading a continuous improvement culture in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Morale.The Nuts and BoltsMaintain a safe and environmentally sound workplace, ensuring all regulations, laws, and policies are followedLead the development of action plans to ensure KPI and CI goals are metCreate and sustain a visual workplace including, but not limited to, team improvement boards, value stream board, and scheduling boardsModel the use of Leader Standard Work (LSW) and ensure the implementation of LSW throughout the standard value streamEngage, train, and coach employees on required skills to be successful in meeting customer and financial goalsCreate a culture of engaged employees focused on improving and growing the businessManage and direct all operations activities to build and ship standard body ordersWork with other organizational leaders to ensure all related functions collaborate effectivelyMaintain intentional cadence with sales to ensure customer needs are understood and deliveredUnderstand and maintain current understanding of customer/market trends and preferences to ensure designs, lead times, and product quality meet industry expectationsTrack operational and financial metrics to ensure design and production processes achieve established goalsRequired CredentialsA Bachelor's Degree in a related field is required, advanced degree is preferredTen years of related job experience is required; preferably in the automotive or manufacturing industriesExperience implementing LEAN principles in a manufacturing environmentExperience in a large/matrixed manufacturing environment managing profit & loss statements with total revenues >$50 MMHow We Make an ImpactAt Reading Truck, we have more than 65 years of industry leadership in the manufacture, distribution, and enhancement of work truck bodies.
