About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized Customer Service & Order Entry Specialist to join our growing team. This position serves as a key point of contact for customers while supporting production planning, order management, and supply chain operations. The ideal candidate will have strong Excel skills, experience managing large amounts of data, and the ability to provide exceptional customer service in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process customer orders accurately and efficiently within the company ERP system.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries regarding orders, product availability, delivery timelines, and order status updates.
  • Maintain and update customer records, order details, and inventory information.
  • Enter, review, and validate order information to ensure accuracy and timely fulfillment.
  • Support production planning activities by tracking orders, inventory levels, and production schedules.
  • Coordinate with operations, production, purchasing, and warehouse teams to resolve order issues and ensure customer expectations are met.
  • Monitor inventory availability and communicate potential shortages or delays.
  • Generate and maintain reports related to customer orders, inventory, and production planning.
  • Create and update work orders to support manufacturing and production operations.
  • Analyze and manipulate data using Microsoft Excel to identify trends, maintain records, and support operational decision-making.
  • Assist with maintaining accurate planning, production, and customer service documentation.
Required Qualifications
  • 2+ years of customer service, order entry, administrative support, supply chain, or manufacturing support experience.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including:
    • VLOOKUPs
    • Pivot Tables
    • Data validation and manipulation
    • Working with complex spreadsheets
    • Troubleshooting and correcting spreadsheet issues
  • Experience managing large volumes of data with a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven organizational and time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working within a manufacturing, food production, or supply chain environment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) or a similar ERP system.
  • Understanding of inventory management, production planning, scheduling, or order fulfillment processes.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Northbrook, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $36.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
