Hospital Chemistry Lab Supervisor - Automation & 3 Shifts

An esteemed academic medical center in the Bronx is seeking a Chemistry Supervisor to lead a high‑volume hospital chemistry department, overseeing operations, staff, and the ongoing implementation of new automated instrumentation across a multi‑shift environment. Job Function Oversees 12–15 direct reports across 3 shifts Responsible for full chemistry department operations Monday–Friday 8am–4pm (flexibility required) Leading instrumentation upgrades + automation rollout Managing staffing optimization (per diem → FT conversions) Acts as primary escalation point for clinical, technical, and operational issues Job Requirements NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist license 4+ years clinical lab experience with 1+ year leadership Strong chemistry discipline expertise (core + automation) Experience with: Instrument validation/implementation QA/QC, CAP/CLIA compliance Staff scheduling + performance management Ability to manage shift coverage challenges and retention Comfortable in hands‑on, visible leadership role onsite Disclosure: The hourly rates and/or salaries listed may or may not reflect total compensation packages including bonus and fringe benefits, etc., Nor are the advertisement(s) posted a guarantee of a certain compensation package for a position or bona fide offer of employment.
