Equipment Operator

The Equipment Operator safely operates all-terrain material handling and solar construction equipment, including a 12K forklift and skid steer, to move and position pallets of glass solar panels and related materials on a large-scale, non-residential solar construction site. This role focuses on precise, careful handling of solar components, adherence to spotter guidance, and support for a wide range of construction, earthwork, electrical, and site maintenance activities in a fast-paced outdoor environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate 12K all-terrain forklifts, skid steers, excavators, bulldozers, and lull lifts.
• Transport, stage, and unload solar panels, racking, and construction materials.
• Support earthwork, grading, trenching, backfilling, site clearing, and pile-driving activities.
• Assist solar installation crews with modules, racking, inverters, and electrical materials.
• Follow all safety protocols and work closely with spotters and crew members.

Qualifications

• Experience operating heavy equipment on construction projects.
• Ability to safely operate a 12K all-terrain forklift.
• Solar construction experience preferred.
• Experience with PD-10 Vermeer, Turchi, or similar pile-driving equipment is a plus.
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions and on uneven terrain.
• Strong safety mindset, reliability, and teamwork skills.

Work Environment

Outdoor utility-scale solar construction site. Candidates should be comfortable working on large job sites, operating equipment on uneven terrain, and meeting daily production goals in a safety-focused environment.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 7am-5:30pm, Saturday OT as needed

This is a Contract position based out of San Antonio, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $30.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
