Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: MedSurg/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: 18 months of MedSurg/Tele experience License: RN License Certifications: BLS certification required Must-Have: Cardiac rhythm interpretation; experience with non-titrating cardiac drips; general medical/surgical skillset; IV start skills; blood products; wound care/dressing changes Description: Registered Nurse - MedSurg/Tele This position requires a Registered Nurse with 18 months of experience in MedSurg/Tele. The average census on the unit is 32 patients. Patient ratios are 1:5 during days and 1:6 during nights, with surge staffing potentially increasing ratios up to 1:7 or 1:8. The unit supports patient care through a dedicated team including CNAs, a charge nurse, nurse educators, and a clinical nurse specialist. Common patient diagnoses include DKA, sepsis, wounds, CHF, AKI, pneumonia, diabetes, anemia, sickle cell crisis, pancreatitis, spinal fusions, and orthopedic total joint replacements. The RN will provide care for patients with tubes/drains and assist with mobility. The clinical environment features technology such as EMR systems, IV pumps, medication dispensing systems, and monitoring equipment. Nurses will be required to float within their region to meet staffing needs, adhering to their scope of practice. This unit fosters a welcoming culture with supportive teammates.
