Senior Accountant

A Wiss real estate development and management client is seeking a Senior Property Accountant to join their team in Middlesex County, NJ. This is a hands‑on accounting role with exposure to both financial operations and property‑level activity. You’ll play a central part in keeping the day‑to‑day financial functions running smoothly, while also supporting broader initiatives alongside the Controller. This position is FULLY ONSITE. Responsibilities Perform bank reconciliations and manage cash activity Manage all aspects of tenant security accounts Handle intercompany transactions, transfers, and postings Post interest and track deposits from ancillary income streams Manage tax payments, filings, and year‑end documentation with external accountants Set up new properties in property management software and maintain system accuracy Manage and update commercial tenant records Process tenant changes and charges as needed Provide ongoing support to the Controller on special projects and day‑to‑day needs Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field Experience in accounting within real estate or property management strongly preferred Familiarity with property management software a plus Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy Organized and able to manage multiple responsibilities effectively Comfortable working in a hands‑on role that includes both routine and more complex tasks Proactive, reliable, and willing to step in where needed Clear communicator with a practical, problem‑solving mindset Salary range is $85,000-$95,000. Client also offers generous health insurance coverage, attractive 401(k) plan with company match.
