About the Position

A healthcare facility in Springfield, Ohio is seeking a Locums Vascular Surgery Physician to provide 24-hour inpatient call coverage. This short-term assignment offers the opportunity to care for adult and geriatric vascular surgery patients in a collaborative acute care hospital setting.

Position Highlights

• Coverage Dates: August 7, 2026 (7:00 AM) through August 10, 2026

• Shift: 24-hour call (7:00 AM – 7:00 AM)

• Weekend Coverage: Required

• Call: Required

• Setting: 100% Inpatient

• EMR: Epic

Responsibilities

• Provide 24-hour vascular surgery call coverage

• Manage postoperative care for vascular surgery patients

• Evaluate and treat vascular emergencies requiring surgical intervention

• Perform emergency vascular surgery as clinically indicated

• Respond to inpatient and Emergency Department consults and referrals

• Collaborate with hospitalists, emergency medicine physicians, nursing staff, and specialists to provide timely, high-quality patient care

• Document patient encounters accurately using Epic

Practice Details

• Adult and geriatric patient population

• Average daily census of 2–4 patients, with volume varying based on inpatient census and sign-out

• Acute care hospital (non-trauma facility)

• Broad range of inpatient vascular surgery cases and postoperative management

Qualifications

• Board Certified in Vascular Surgery

• Active Ohio medical license

• Current DEA registration

• Current ACLS certification
