Production Manager

CORE HOURS

• Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
• As a make-to-order business, you may be required to work outside of this core schedule, including Saturdays as needed.

STARTING PAY

$80,000 - $92,000 (Annual)

GENERAL SUMMARY

The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations within the department. This role ensures that production processes run safely, smoothly, and efficiently, while maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. The Production Manager is also responsible for coordinating staff, managing resources, and implementing production schedules to meet output targets.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plan/coordinate daily and weekly production runs to achieve safe, continuous, and efficient plant operations to meet or exceed customer requirements
• Establish and monitor clear expectations for team members, making it possible and necessary for all to commit and capacitate themselves to meet or exceed those expectations
• Coordinate safety initiatives and processes (i.e., safety behavior, SOP and 5S audits) and participate in all aspects of food and employee safety plans and/or support other personnel in related activities.
• Monitor and control resources in the production process
• Complete incident reports in a timely manner
• Ensure that team members and their performance are kept up to date through communication and training
• Communicate critical updates to members of the management team as required
• Ensure Excel spreadsheets are kept up to date (i.e., Lean Score) as required
• Assist in addressing human resource issues, such as staffing, employee relations, conflict resolution, performance management, payroll camera checks, etc., as required
• Ensure job closing is complete per company standards
• Conduct department interviews for applicants
• Basic understanding and user comfort with technologies, such as tablets, are required in this role.

Requirements

PERIODIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coordinate with the Maintenance Department to ensure the resolution of mechanical and maintenance issues.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree in business or related field, plus 1 to 3 years of related supervisory experience; or the equivalent of a high school diploma/GED, plus 3 to 5 years of related supervisory experience.

KNOWLEDGE

• General understanding of mechanical functions and maintenance issues
• Working knowledge of GMPs, SOPs, HACCP programs, and regulatory requirements
• Computer programs, such as Microsoft Office, Company database, Internet and email
• Project development, implementation, and management

ABILITIES AND SKILLS

• Reasoning - Comprehend several abstract and concrete variables; use logic or reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions or approaches to problems.
• Mathematical - Add subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers and perform arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.
• Language Development - Ability to instruct others through writing and/or speaking; can gather and organize information to write reports; can prepare and/or deliver presentations; interview, counsel or advise people; evaluate technical data.
• Physical Effort - Medium work: exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally; frequently lifting, pushing, pulling, or otherwise move objects up to 10 pounds; sedentary work at a computer.
• Vision - Far, near and mid-range vision, depth perception and field of vision
• Activity - Regularly required to climb, stoop, kneel, reach, walk, talk, hear, and engage in repetitive motions.
