Controller

Chesapeake Search Partners is partnering with a well-established, Baltimore-based commercial building services and technology company to identify it's next Controller. This is an opportunity to to lead the company's accounting and financial operations as it enters an exciting period of growth.

This individual will play a key role in completing the implementation, improving financial processes, and connecting accounting with the company's operational functions.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead all accounting functions, including GL, AP, AR, billing, payroll accounting, cash management, and month-end/year-end close.
• Oversee financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow management, and financial controls.
• Own the company's Oracle NetSuite financial environment and support the transition from QuickBooks.
• Develop NetSuite reporting, dashboards, workflows, and automation.
• Partner with operations to improve job costing, WIP, inventory, purchasing, billing, and profitability reporting.
• Provide leadership with actionable financial and operational insights.
• Manage banking relationships, credit lines, bonding, insurance requirements, and cash management.
• Partner with the company's outside accounting firm on tax, compliance, year-end accounting, and financial reporting.
• Lead and develop the accounting team while building scalable processes and controls.

Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field.
• Significant Controller, Assistant Controller, Director of Finance, or comparable senior accounting experience required.
• Experience with job costing and operational accounting preferred.
• Experience with a NetSuite implementation, ERP conversion, or serving as a financial systems owner is highly preferred.
• Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
