Pay: Starting at $17.25/hr! (Based on experience) PLUS additional Weekend $1/hour shift differential!

Masonic Villages of Pennsylvania - Sewickley Campus - is immediately hiring a Line Cook.

As a Line Cook, you will carry out our Mission of Love by performing all aspects of food preparation for breakfast, lunch and dinner; take orders over the counter and handle transaction through POS in the nursing care kitchen / dining. Also, by providing customers with prompt, friendly and courteous service in a clean and pleasurable atmosphere.

Our Line Cook is responsible for the following:

• Cooks breakfast and alternative items as directed by the NH Dining Room Supervisor. Serves prepared food in a neat, sanitary and attractive fashion. Performs the meal service in a fast accurate manner, making sure steam table and other equipment is on to keep food hot and that proper utensils are being used to portion food. Serves food in accordance with established portion control procedures.
• Obtains food supplies, as needed, from the storeroom or refrigerators in main kitchen, keeping a daily inventory and stock list.
• Contributes creative input towards menu and alternative items. Maintain proper storage of all food items. Keep accurate temperature logs for food and equipment.
• Perform general cleanup throughout the kitchen on daily basis (sweeping, scrubbing, mopping, and general dish/pot washing). Includes disposing of garbage.
• Understand therapeutic and mechanically altered diets as well as resident allergies and likes/dislikes.
• Establishes and maintains effective communication with nursing staff, residents, family members and supervisor.
• Stock Dining Room kitchens daily according to stock sheet.
• Perform other related duties as assigned or requested by the supervisor.

What You Need as a Line Cook:

• Experience in breakfast, lunch, and dinner short order cooking preferred.
• Associates degree or certificate in culinary arts issued by an accredited culinary school is preferred.
• Good written, oral, and organizational skills.
• People oriented.
• Ability to work independently.
• Good written, oral, organizational, and basic computer skills.
