Tax Professional (Preparing/Reviewing Experience)

About the Firm We are working with a close-knit tax and accounting practice based in Sycamore, IL. The Role We're looking for a Senior Tax Accountant with 5+ years of experience to join our team. This role is roughly 75% tax preparation and review (individual and business returns) and 25% accounting and advisory/consulting work for clients. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants real ownership over client relationships, review-level responsibility, and a role that will grow in flexibility as trust is established. What You'll Do Prepare and review individual and business tax returns Provide accounting and light advisory/consulting support to clients Work closely with our small team, including our office admin (who also supports with tax prep) Help manage workload through the season, from extension crunch through year-round client needs What We're Looking For 5+ years of tax experience - required, including hands-on prep; review experience is a strong plus Experience with both individual and business returns CPA preferred, but not required Someone comfortable in a small-firm environment who's self-directed but also collaborative Schedule & Flexibility Hours fluctuate seasonally: ~55-60 hrs/week during extension season ~60-70 hrs/week during normal tax season (Jan-Apr) Reduced/flexible schedule available in the off-season (e.g., 75-80% schedule) Position starts in-person in Sycamore, with the opportunity to move toward a hybrid schedule as the working relationship develops Compensation & Benefits $45/hour Discretionary bonuses #J-18808-Ljbffr CPS Inc.
