Director, Maintenance ExcellenceOperations Center of ExcellencePosition SummaryThe Director, Maintenance Excellence is responsible for establishing and deploying Pregis' enterprise maintenance, reliability, and asset management strategy across a multi-site manufacturing network. As a leader within the Operations Center of Excellence, this role will define the vision, standards, and roadmap that improve equipment reliability, increase uptime, reduce maintenance costs, and support long-term business growth.This role leads through influence, partnering closely with Operations Directors, Plant Managers, Maintenance Managers, and Engineering, teams to drive consistent maintenance practices and operational excellence across the network.A critical responsibility of this role is to own and lead Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) excellence across Pregis, ensuring TPM becomes a foundational capability of the Pregis Production System and is consistently deployed across all manufacturing operations.Key ResponsibilitiesEnterprise Maintenance & Reliability StrategyDevelop and execute the enterprise Maintenance and Reliability strategy aligned with Pregis growth and operational objectives.Establish network-wide maintenance standards, reliability practices, asset management processes, and KPIs.Create multi-year roadmaps focused on reliability, predictive maintenance, maintenance productivity, and asset lifecycle management.Serve as the enterprise subject matter expert for maintenance and reliability excellence.TPM & Operational ExcellenceOwn and drive the TPM strategy across the manufacturing network.Establish TPM standards, governance, assessments, training, and maturity models.Partner with Operations leaders to embed TPM principles into daily management systems and the Pregis Production System (PPS).Lead efforts to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), reduce downtime, and increase asset utilization.Identify, standardize, and deploy best practices across manufacturing locations.Reliability & Asset PerformanceImprove equipment uptime, reliability, and maintenance effectiveness across the network.Drive predictive, preventive, and condition-based maintenance strategies.Lead root cause analysis and reliability improvement initiatives for critical assets.Develop strategies to optimize spare parts inventory, maintenance planning, and asset lifecycle management.Capital & Technology StrategyDevelop the maintenance technology roadmap, including CMMS optimization, predictive analytics, and digital maintenance solutions.Support major capital investments, equipment upgrades, and manufacturing modernization initiatives.Evaluate emerging technologies that improve reliability, maintenance efficiency, and operational performance.Enterprise Influence & CollaborationPartner with Operations Directors, Plant Managers, Maintenance Managers, Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and EHS teams.Lead through influence to drive adoption of standards and best practices.Build organizational capability through maintenance training, coaching, and development programs.Ensure maintenance initiatives deliver measurable operational and financial impact.Measures of SuccessImproved equipment uptime and OEEReduced unplanned downtime and equipment failuresIncreased TPM maturity across the networkImproved preventive and predictive maintenance complianceReduced maintenance costs and spare parts spendIncreased maintenance productivity and technical capabilityStandardized maintenance practices across all facilitiesImproved asset reliability and lifecycle performanceSustainable EBITDA improvement through operational excellenceQualificationsEducation & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering, or related technical discipline, required.15+ years of progressive maintenance, reliability, engineering, or manufacturing leadership experience.Experience leading maintenance or reliability programs in a multi-site manufacturing environment.Demonstrated success implementing TPM, reliability-centered maintenance, predictive maintenance, or operational excellence initiatives.Leadership CompetenciesStrategic thinker with the ability to build and deploy enterprise-wide programs.Strong influencer capable of driving change without direct authority.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.Strong business acumen with the ability to connect reliability improvements to operational and financial performance.Proven ability to build alignment across functions, sites, and business units.Travel>50%Compensation The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Pregis’ total compensation package. The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $185,000 - $225,000, depending on experience and skills.Compensation details listed in US job postings reflect base salary only and do not include benefits.
