Field Training Officer PSOC
Securitas Security Services USA
As our Field Training Officer, you’ll lead a strategic 12-month initiative to strengthen how we train our PSOC teams across the account. You’ll assess current training needs, design role-based learning pathways, develop standardized content, and bring consistency to PSOC training worldwide. A central part of your work will be creating a brand-new onboarding program for Watch Officers and Watch Supervisors — everything from training objectives and curriculum structure to hands‑on exercises, skills validation, and ongoing learning resources. In addition, you will support our Mobile Security Operations program, providing broader training support across multiple sub-regions with increased travel. You’ll report to the Field Training Manager and work side by side with PSOC Managers, Security Operations leadership, client stakeholders, and our global training teams. While you won’t have direct reports, you’ll have real influence over training strategy and operational excellence. The ideal person for this role blends strong instructional design skills with practical PSOC experience, and brings a structured, data-driven approach to everything they build. What you’ll do You’ll lead the design and rollout of a new PSOC onboarding program that reflects how our operations really work, the technical skills our teams need, and what our client expects. As the go‑to expert for PSOC training, you’ll get out into the field — visiting sites, interviewing people, observing operations, and running assessments — to understand where the gaps are and turn what you learn into practical, structured learning solutions. You’ll build and maintain training that uses a mix of delivery methods: online courses in our Learning Management System (LMS), instructor‑led and virtual sessions, hands‑on operational training, quick‑reference job aids and performance support, and skills validation and certification programs. Your training will connect directly to the core PSOC systems and processes our teams rely on every day, including access control, video management systems (VMS), alarm monitoring platforms, incident management tools, and dispatch workflows. Beyond building the program, you’ll measure how well it’s working through audits and performance metrics and use what you find to recommend ways to improve consistency, compliance, and operational performance. You’ll partner closely with PSOC leadership to strengthen onboarding, deepen technical capability, and keep learning long after day one — all while keeping stakeholders informed with regular updates, insights, and recommendations throughout the program. Once the PSOC initiative is complete, you’ll bring that same expertise to Mobile Security Operations, supporting onboarding, certification, and sustainment training across regions. What you need to apply You’ll be a great fit if you have an associate’s degree plus three or more years of relevant experience in security operations, training, or a related field or equivalent experience that shows you know your craft. You should have designed and delivered training in operational environments before, and you bring strong technical aptitude and a real knack for solving problems. It’s a plus if you’ve worked in a Physical Security Operations Center, know your way around access control systems (such as Lenel), VMS, and alarm monitoring platforms, have built LMS‑based learning content, or have led projects or program rollouts. You should be comfortable with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Teams, SharePoint, and Learning Management Systems. And because you’ll work closely with client representatives, operational leaders, and global teams, strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills are essential. Attention to detail and a proactive, solution‑oriented mindset are key to thriving in this role. You’ll need to excel at prioritizing tasks effectively and anticipate the needs of the team to stay ahead of the curve. You will need effective communication and a proactive, adaptable mindset in a fast‑paced, matrixed environment. This position involves travel (up to 50% of the time), so a passion for travel (and a valid passport) and the flexibility to accommodate domestic and international trips are a must. It will also require you to work nights and weekends on occasion, so you’ll need to be comfortable flexing your schedule when needed. All applicants to this role must have reliable means of communication, reliable means of transportation (public or private) to get to/from work, the legal right to work in the country where the position is located, and the ability to speak, read and write in English proficiently. What you’ll get We offer more than just a job; we offer the chance to be part of a collaborative and supportive team where your contributions are valued and your growth matters. In this role, you will thrive in a dynamic environment while supporting a prestigious multinational client account. You will gain exposure to global operations and cross‑regional collaboration, and you will have access to continuous learning, training programs, and career development opportunities designed to help you succeed. The extra stuff Candidates must be at least 18 years old, legally authorized to work in the job location, and willing to complete the company’s pre‑employment screening, including a background check and drug screening. This role may require evening, overnight, or weekend work, particularly during emergencies or high‑priority events. Work may occur in outdoor or inclement weather or environments requiring protective gear and heightened safety awareness. This position requires—with or without reasonable accommodation—the physical and mental ability to perform all essential job functions effectively. This includes maintaining composure under pressure while interacting with clients, authorities, executives, and staff; working independently without direct supervision; and managing multiple tasks simultaneously. The role involves regular use of a computer and keyboard, frequent lifting or moving of items up to 10 pounds, and occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds. Visual acuity for both near and far distances, as well as the ability to adjust focus, is required. The position may involve handling sensitive or confidential information and requires flexibility in scheduling to meet operational demands. #J-18808-Ljbffr Securitas Security Services USA, Inc.
