Veterinary Technician - Internal Medicine

BluePearlSpecialty + Emergency Pet Hospital is seeking a knowledgeable and skilled Veterinary Technician to join their fast-pacedInternalMedicinedepartment in Tacoma! As an Internal MedicineVeterinary Technicians, you areliaisonbetween our internists and our clients regarding patient histories, care instructions, lab results, patient updates, and other topics as requested by the doctors. Youwillbeinvolved withclient contact through phone calls, email, and in person conversations. Additionally, youwillbeassisting with endoscopic and ultrasound procedures, filling prescriptions, takingx rays, and obtaining lab samples. Strong anesthesia and phlebotomy skills required. Veterinary Technician (LVT) Pay: $24.50 / hour - $35.21 / hour This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through Kahuna leveling system . We offer a shift differential on nights and weekends as well as competitive pay with opportunities for growth! As an Internal Medicine VeterinaryTechnician,you will… Set up constant rate infusions (CRI). Calculates all medical math including advanced and CRI (mcg/mg, %/mg,etc.). Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia Set up for ultrasound and radiology procedures. Set up and assist with endoscopic procedures (GI, nasal, urinary, airway). Clean and maintain equipment following procedure. Discharge IM patients from the hospital, including basic client education such as insulin injection, SQ fluid, and feeding tube demonstrations.
