A well-established commercial construction company in the Pittsburgh market is seeking a Project Manager with at least 5 years of commercial construction experience .

This opportunity is particularly attractive for someone who enjoys understanding how a project is actually built , not simply coordinating subcontractors from a distance.

The company performs a significant amount of its work with its own internal field teams , giving Project Managers much greater involvement in the day-to-day execution of each project. You will work directly with the people responsible for performing the work and have visibility into nearly every aspect of the construction process.

Responsibilities

The Project Manager will be responsible for the successful planning and execution of commercial construction projects, including:

• Manage projects from preconstruction and planning through final completion.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and cost controls.
• Work closely with superintendents, foremen, field personnel, and internal construction teams.
• Help plan manpower, materials, equipment, sequencing, and overall project execution.
• Review drawings, specifications, scopes, and technical details.
• Identify constructability concerns and develop solutions with the project team.
• Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Manage project documentation, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and procurement.
• Monitor project financial performance and identify potential risks.
• Participate in project planning meetings and communicate expectations clearly to field teams.
• Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, schedule, and client satisfaction.

Ideal Background

• 5+ years of commercial construction experience
• Project Engineer, Assistant Project Manager, or Project Manager experience
• Experience working for a commercial general contractor or construction manager
