About the Position

TravelNurseSource is working with Malone Healthcare to find a qualified IMC RN in Louisville, Kentucky, 40201!

• Provide direct patient care on a cardiac-focused PCU/Med-Surg unit with patient ratios of 1:4 up to 1:5
• Manage a primarily cardiac patient population including CHF, CABG, TAVR, chest pain workups, and heart catheterization post-procedure care (site checks and vitals; sheath removal not required)
• Administer and monitor non-titratable drips including heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Lasix, dobutamine, dopamine, milrinone, nitroglycerin, and lidocaine
• Perform chest tube management, post-surgical drain management, IV starts, lab draws, TR band site assessments, and 12-lead ECG interpretation
• Document accurately using Cerner EMR; utilize Plum ICU Medical IV pumps and Omnicell medication dispensing systems
• May be asked to serve in a charge nurse capacity on an as-needed basis; float to similar units may be required

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Kentucky
• BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum of 1 year of cardiac experience in a Med-Surg or Telemetry setting
• Proficiency with chest tube management, IV starts, lab draws, and non-titratable cardiac drips
• Comfort with 12-lead ECG interpretation and post-procedure cardiac care

• Prior experience in a charge nurse or lead RN role
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR and Omnicell medication dispensing systems
• Experience with TR band site assessment and post-surgical drain management
• Background working in a travel, agency, or float pool nursing environment
