Research Associate I - Guzman Lab - Department of Neurology

Overview Department of Neurology at Cedars‑Sinai is seeking a Research Associate I to join Dr. Samuel Guzman’s team. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Performs a variety of laboratory tasks and procedures. May assist with animal husbandry. Maintains lab equipment and related records. Transports, processes and logs samples. Maintains computer database with relevant clinical information. Performs lab maintenance duties, including glassware cleaning and sterilization. Maintains stocks of general lab materials, and places orders for lab equipment and supplies. Assists new students and fellows at the laboratory. Department‑Specific Duties and Responsibilities Assists with human brain dissections and tissue freezing. Performs manual IHC and other staining procedures. Processes and prepares human tissue. Manages internal/external tissue requests and generate usage reports. Performs data entry, sample tracking, and QC documentation in REDCap. Contributes to workflow development and continuous process improvement. Conducts spatial transcriptomics workflows. Assists with microscopy, imaging, and data generation. Supports day‑to‑day lab operations and related projects. May assist with manuscripts or grant materials. NOTE: Evening and/or weekend availability may be required. Qualifications Education, Experience & Skills Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences is required. Solid understanding of database management, personal computers, and presentation and imaging software. Understanding of general research objectives and experience with routine laboratory procedures and experimental protocols. Must possess digital literacy. #J-18808-Ljbffr Myana
