Location: Covenant House Texas - 1111 Lovett Blvd, Houston, TX 77006
Department: Food Services
Shift: Mornings/Afternoons
Schedule: Varies
Days Off: Varies
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Steward/Dishwasher/Utility Worker to join our team at Covenant House Texas. The ideal candidate will have a passion for serving youth and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. You will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness of the kitchen and equipment. Key Responsibilities:
- Wash dishes, pots, pans, utensils and kitchen equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness of dish room, floors, trash areas and storage spaces.
- Assist with basic food prep under supervision.
- Ensure proper sanitation and chemical usage.
- Organize and store clean equipment in designated areas.
- Support receiving and storage of deliveries.
- Remove trash throughout the shift.
- Follow all safety and sanitation procedures.
- Communicate equipment or supply issues to the Chef/Manager.
Qualifications:
- Prior stewarding or utility experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to lift 40 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
- Strong work ethic, reliability and ability to work as part of a team.
- Food Handler Certification or ability to obtain
