Compensation Range: $54.50/hour - $64/hour
Location:  Minooka, IL & Shorewood, IL; Onsite – School Setting

Position Summary
An Occupational Therapist is needed to support children near Minooka, IL as a dedicated school-based occupational therapy professional. This contract position involves working in person and collaborating closely with an early childhood diagnostic team to assess and address student needs. The initial caseload of 40 children would provide the opportunity to work in autism classrooms (4 classrooms in an elementary school and 3 classrooms in Early Childhood). In March, the caseload would shift to an Intermediate and High School. Responsibilities
Schedule / Shift:

• Hours per week: 35 hours per week
• Contract length: October 1, 2026 to May 28, 2027

Key Duties

• Deliver in-person OT services, focusing on supporting and empowering students to achieve educational and developmental goals.
• Maintain accurate records on all children assigned to the program.
• Participate in evaluations with the District diagnostic team to determine student eligibility and need for occupational therapy.
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans.
• Contribute to IEP meetings and collaborate with teachers and staff to integrate OT strategies into the classroom environment.
• Adjust interventions and supports as student caseload increases over the academic year.

Requirements
Licenses & Certifications

• Must hold an active Illinois Occupational Therapist license

Experience:

• Previous experience in school settings or working with children is preferred.

Skills:

• Strong collaborative skills to partner with multidisciplinary diagnostic and educational teams.
• Effective communication abilities for working with students, educators, and families.
• Flexibility and a proactive attitude to adapt to a growing caseload as new students join the program.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos.
• Ability to climb multiple flights of stairs daily
• Ability to interact with staff and the public is required.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to work as a team member at all times
• Ability to perform all duties with an awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
